Dear Mrs.Zrihen,

After i finished reading the book there was another pages that said what happened after 2 years. This Book is Called A KISS IN TIME By Alex Flinn. I picked this book because i had to read fairy tale. The significance of this book is is that don't touch a spike ball or you fall into a deep sleep. The 2 reading strategies i used before reading are i skimmed and scanned the what happened after 2 years in the book, The second strategy i used is i asked myself what do i know from what i read in the book and i tryed to figure out whats gonna happen. The two reading strategies i used during i was reading were i went back to some of the last chapters, The second strategy i used was through some pages to see if there was words i didn't know. The 2 reading strategies i used after reading were that i asked myself what did i understand from what i read, The second strategy was I looked through some pages for text features.

The Genre of this book is Fairy Tale. The characters are Talia the 15th year old girl, the maid, Jake the boy who kisses Talia and she wakes up,and Jake's friends and all the characters are flat and round. The setting is The kingdom and the Talia's Bedroom, and her castle. The weather conditions are sunny. The Exposition is Talia, Maid, and Jake, Also the castle and Talia's Bedroom. The rising action is that Talia was cursed when she was a baby that if she is gonna touch a spike ball before her 16th birthday she will fall into deep sleeping and she touched a spike ball 1 day before her 16th birthday. The Climax is that This kid Named Jake came and kissed her and he was her true love. The Falling action is when Jake give Talia a Kiss on her forehead. The Resolution is when Talia woke up and her 16th birthday. The Conflict is when Talia Fell in to a deep sleep for 3 centuries.

The Tone is Calm polite and nice. The mood is Calm and exciting. The theme is never touch a spike ball or you fall into deep sleeping. The moral is to never touch a spike ball. The point of View is 1st person and 3rd person. The pattern of organization is Compare and Contrast. The authors Purpose is to entertain. The authors perspective is objective and bias.

I think the book was very nice and it seemed interesting i think the author put a lot of details into this book and explained everything, and it made me escape from my world and like I'm in the castle. My favorite part about the book is when Jake cam and kissed her and she woke up. This book was recommended to me from Mrs.Zrihen. I rate this book 4/5 because there some words i didn't know.

Sincerely,
                Noy Nahumi

Dear Mrs Zrihen,

I just finished reading A KISS IN TIME  By:Alex Flinn.I picked this book because i had to read a fairy tale. The significance of the book is just like not to touch a spike ball cause then you fall into deep sleep. the 2 reading strategies i used were Skim and scan i skimmed and scanned the cover the title page the synopsis and more the second strategy i used was i asked myself what do i already know about this book well i knew that it was written by the same author that wrote Beastly and that's its a fairytale. The 2 reading strategies i used during the time i read is i went back and reread chapters 1 and 2 because i didn't understand what was going on until i finished reading chapter 3 the second strategy is i looked while I'm reading to see if there were new words i don't know. The 2 reading strategies i used after reading the book were what did i understand from the book..well i understood that not to touch a spike ball because you might fall into deep sleep, The second strategy is i looked through the book for text features and i found some.

The Genre of this book is Fairytale and fairytale is a story that is made up and like everything can be made up in the story like there could be magic and there could be wizards and lot more Like in the book I'm reading a girl named Talia touches a spike ball because of a curse before her 16th birthday. The Characters are Talia The 15th year old girl, The maid, Jake The boy who kisses and she wakes up,and Jake's Friends and there flat and round. The Setting is The castle, Her 16th birthday, and Outside. The weather Conditions are sunny. The Exposition is Talia, maid ,and Jake, The castle,16th birthday, and outside. The rising action is that there was a curse in Talia when she was a birthday that if she touches a spike ball before her 16th birthday she fall in to a deep sleep and the only way she could wake up is get kissed by her true love. The Climax of the story is when she touches a spike ball a day before she turned 16 and she fell into deep sleep. The falling action is A boy named Jake and his friends went to a field trip with his class and they run away from the class and he sees the girl Talia and he fell in love with her. The Resolution is that The boy Jake falls in love with Talia and he kisses her and then Talia and the rest of the castle wake up and they realize they been sleeping for centuries so then Talia celebrates her 16th birthday and everything turns out good. The Conflict is when Talia and the entire castle falls into a deep sleep and they can only wake up if Talia gets kissed by her true love.

The tone is polite and happy. The mood is Happy and excited. The Theme is Never touch a spike ball before your 16th birthday. The Moral is that never touch a spike ball before your 16th birthday. The point of View is First person. The patterns of organization is compare and contrast. The authors purpose is to entertain. The authors perspective is objective and bias.

My opinion about this book is that its great its really interesting,it makes you get away and escape from your world into the book.
My favorite part of the book is when she woke up and celebrated her 16th birthday. It was recommended to me from Mrs.Zrihen. I rate this book 4/5 It was really good.

Reading Journal #2 Amigas Fifteen Candles By Veronica Chambers-September,7,2011

Dear Mrs.Zrihen,

I Just finished reading AMIGA'S FIFTEEN CANDLES By Veronica Chambers. I picked this book because it seemed really nice and i really love realistic fiction. The significance is that its really cool reading about a person who tyred to help a girl live her dream like having a quincenera. The 2 reading strategies i used before reading are I asked myself what do i already know about this book and The next thing i did is Skimming&scanning i looked through to see the title the pictures the back and all the text features. During the time i read i went back and reread some pages to understand what I'm reading and looked through some pages to see if there were words i didn't understand. The 2 reading strategies i used after reading is i asked myself what i read and what i understand and looked through the text features to see them.

The genre of this book is realistic fiction because its like real life but not really. The characters Are Alicia, Carmen,Jaymie, Gaz and Sarita. The setting is Sarita's quincenera and Alicia's house and the office. The time is during the summer. The weather condition is sunny and hot. The exposition is Alicia Carmen Jaymie Gaz and Sarita and its Sarita's quince, Alicia's house and the office. The rising action is Alicia wants to make a quince for Alicia but her mom doesn't want her to.  The climax is that Alicia doesn't listen to her mom and start working on the quince. The falling action is Alicia is doing all she can to make Sarita's dream come true. The resolution is that Sarita gets to have a quince and it all goes well and Alicia and her friends opened a business of helping quicenears be awesome and she is now really really good friends with Gaz. The conflict is that Sarita wants a quincenera but she doesn't know where to start so Alicia tells her ill help you but her mom doesn't want her to start doing those things like open a business of quinceneras, And Man vs. Society.

The tone is Exciting. And the Mood is Excited. The theme is You always have friends for you. the moral of this story is never give up if you think you can do it. the point of view is 1st person. the authors purpose is to show the readers you can do everything you love anytime.
