Title: Education Gap Grows Between Rich and Poor, Studies Say.

Author: Sabrina Tavernise.

Source: The New York Times.

The topic of the article is Education.

The main idea of the article is: Education Gap Grows Between rich and poor, studies say.

implied/stated)

The author’s purpose for writing this article is to inform about the growing gap.

The author’s perspective in this article is objective/subjective (biased) because

A lot of people have opinions and this article. Not only the author.

The pattern of organization of the article is argument& support.

The reason the author chose this pattern for the article is he wants argue whats wrong and support whats right that’s why the article is subjective, It has many opinions from people.

The text features included in the article are: Education, Poor, Rich.

Education helps by giving knowledge to kids around the world.

Rich people helps by living better.

Poor helps by doesn’t help because they don’t have money to buy better stuff.

This article is about (a summary in your own words): Kids around the world getting education they talk about how money affect education, well I think if your rich you have money to buy supplies and your more happy, and if you are poor you don’t have much money for supplies and u have to reuse a lot of stuff, so it’s really hard.

The significance (importance) of this article is even if your rich or poor you have to always keep your mind to school and learn as hard as you can.

What I learned from this article is  to always keep my mind about school and studying and doing great stuff.

What I liked about this article is that some people said well maybe some people could help them have money for school that way their mind will be fun.

What I did not like about it: is when some people they didn’t really care and just let everything go they don’t care about education.

Who should read this article and why: teens and adults because teens will maybe understand to keep their minds to school. And adults because they maybe will understand why their kids are doing badly in school.

This article reminds me of (text-to-self): The time my friend and I went to buy supplies for school and she didn’t have enough money to but all the stuff for school, so in school her grades weren’t so well.

(text-to-text): this article reminds me of a book I read about a girl who didn’t learn good and didn’t do good in school because her family did not have money.

(text-to-world): There are lots of people in the world that say thye don’t like school or stuff like that but they don’t think that some people in Africa cant even go to school they have to work and they don’t get education, they don’t how to read or write, and some people just don’t respect school.

Title: Warm and Furry, but They Pack a Toxic Punch

Author: Natalie Angier

Source: The New York Times.

The topic of the article is Warm and Furry, but They Pack a Toxic Punch

The main idea of the article is: Warm and Furry, but They Pack a Toxic Punch

(implied/stated)

The author’s purpose for writing this article is to inform because he informs people about the toxic things.

The author’s perspective in this article is objective/subjective (biased) because the author asks other people’s opinions and what they think not only his.

The pattern of organization of the article is compare and contrast.

The reason the author chose this pattern for the article compare what would happen with the animal and contrast what would happen if there is the animal around the environment.

The text features included in the article are: Animal, big, furry.

Animal helps by being big.

Animal helps by being furry.

And furry helps by being on animals.

This article is about (a summary in your own words) about a skunk they found who is toxic to the environment and he smells bad and he is bad and he just not the best to live with or be around with like he is not good to be in the environment, and they are warm and furry but they are toxic.

The significance (importance) of this article is that always check who the animal is before touching it or doing something to it.

What I learned from this article is to never touch an animal unless someone approves it or says the animal is ok.

What I liked about this article when they talk about how the animal can be bad to the environment.

What I did not like about it is when they talked about the toxic he can make.

Who should read this article and why I think all ages between 10 and 60 because people older than 60 won’t probably like it, and people less the 10 which means their kids won’t like it because it won’t interest them.

This article reminds me of…

(Text-to-self): This article reminds me of the time I touched a dog and then I found out I was allergic to dogs.

(Text-to-text): This article reminds me of the time I read a science book in my science class about animals that can be bad to the environment.

(Text-to-world): this article reminds me of stories I hear on the new of people who get bitten by animals they don’t know because they disturb them just like if you disturb a dog its gets angry and attacks you.

Title: Should the driving age be raised to 18?

Author: Scholastic.

Source: The New York Times.

The topic of the article is Teen Driving.

The main idea is should the driving age be raised to 18?-stated

The author’s purpose for writing this article is to inform about the pros and cons about the driving age.

The author’s perspective in this article is objective/subjective (biased) because people give their opinions about the article and say what they think about if driving should be raised to age 18.

The pattern of organization of the article is argument and support.

The reason the author chose this pattern for the article to compare if driving would be safer at age 16 or 18, and contrast if driving should be let at age 18.

The text features included in the article are: driving, age 18, safety.

Driving helps by driving 18 year olds to places.

Age 18 helps by giving role model to smaller people

And safety helps by driving.

This article is about (a summary in your own words): This article is about If driving should be raised to age 18 because so many accidents happen around the world with teenagers driving in the night and daytime, and some countries just think people at the age of 16 shouldn’t be driving because they are not responsible enough. So they want to raise the age for driving to 18 so less accidents happen.

The significance (importance) of this article is: to drive carefully because you don’t know if there is a crazy person on the road trying to cut you off, so you need to drive carefully.

What I learned from this article is: To drive safely and not to do tricks on the road.

What I liked about this article: is when they talked about safety and why they want driving to be raised to the age of 18.

What I did not like about it: is when I read about all the accidents that happened and how.

Who should read this article and why: people from age of 14 to adults because It would interest them more.

This article reminds me of…

(text-to-self): This article reminds me of the time I was like 5 or 6 and I was in the car with my grandpa and some 17 year old cut us off and we almost got into an accident.

(text-to-text): this article reminds me of the time my cousin learned for her permit for the test in driving.

(text-to-world): this article reminds me of an accident I saw on the news and it was a 16 year old kid who was driving and he was just coming back from a party at night and he got hurt.
