Readers Journal #21 Oceans-By:Francois Sarano&Stephane Durand- January 24,2012

Dear Mrs.Zrihen,

I just finished Reading the book OCEANS By Francois Sarano & Stephane Durand. I picked this book because i had to read an informational book, and all the pictures looked interesting. The significance of the book is that its cool to look at books you don't know like not to judge a book by its cover. the 2 reading strategies i used before reading were i skimmed and scanned the title, cover page, and the pictures, the second strategy i used was i asked myself what i already know about this book?...well i knew its about all the things in the ocean. the 2 reading strategies i used during the time i read was i predicted what was gonna happen in chapter 5,6,and 7, the second strategy i used was i looked at all the pictures in the book. The 2 reading strategies i used after reading was i read all the text boxes next to the pictures, the second strategy i used was i asked myself what did i understand from the book.

The genre in my book is Informational. The characters in my book are the fishes in the ocean. The setting is the roads, oceans, and the inside of the oceans. The exposition is fishes in the ocean, roads, oceans, and the inside of the oceans. The rising action is there is not a rising action because its an informational book and it just gives information about things. The climax is when they show pictures of whales and dolphins. The falling action is when some of the fish's don't get along. The resolution is when you see in a picture alot of fishes together. The conflict is there is not a rising action because its an informational book and it just gives information about things, the type is man vs. society.

The tone is relaxed. The mood is relaxed and happy. the theme of the book is not to judge a book by its cover. The moral is not to judge a book by its cover. The point of view is 1st person and 3rd person. The pattern of organization is compare and contrast. The authors purpose is to inform. The authors perspective is the authors.

I think this book is really cool and it was so interesting with the pictures and seeing stuff i never saw in my life, i liked all the picture with the dolphins, fishes, and whale and all what underneath the sea.i would rate this book 8/10 because of the pictures.

                        Sincerely,
                                       Noy Nahumi.

Dear Mrs.Zrihen,

I just finished reading the book THE PROGRAMMING MODEL OF CREATION By James Haines. I picked this book because i had to read science fiction and it also seemed interesting. The significance of the book is that you can always try, even if you fail at it.The 2 reading strategies i used before reading were i skimmed and scanned the title page, the synopsis, and authors page, the second strategy i used was i predicted what the book would think would happen in the future. The 2 strategies i used during the time i read were i went back to chapter 7,8, and 9 to understand what was going on more, because i was confused by whats going on,the second strategy i used was i looked for some new words i didn't know. The 2 strategies i used after i finished reading were i asked myself what did i understand from the book, The second strategy i used was i looked for some more features like pictures or text boxes.

The genre of the book is Science Fiction. The characters in my book are scientists and people who see the future. The setting in the book is Labs, country's,united states and outer space.
