I just finished reading A KISS IN TIME By:Alex Flinn.I picked this book because i had to read a fairy tale. The significance of the book is just like not to touch a spike ball cause then you fall into deep sleep. the 2 reading strategies i used were Skim and scan i skimmed and scanned the cover the title page the synopsis and more the second strategy i used was i asked myself what do i already know about this book well i knew that it was written by the same author that wrote Beastly and that's its a fairytale. The 2 reading strategies i used during the time i read is i went back and reread chapters 1 and 2 because i didn't understand what was going on until i finished reading chapter 3 the second strategy is i looked while I'm reading to see if there were new words i don't know. The 2 reading strategies i used after reading the book were what did i understand from the book..well i understood that not to touch a spike ball because you might fall into deep sleep, The second strategy is i looked through the book for text features and i found some.
The Genre of this book is Fairytale and fairytale is a story that is made up and like everything can be made up in the story like there could be magic and there could be wizards and lot more Like in the book I'm reading a girl named Talia touches a spike ball because of a curse before her 16th birthday. The Characters are Talia The 15th year old girl, The maid, Jake The boy who kisses and she wakes up,and Jake's Friends and there flat and round. The Setting is The castle, Her 16th birthday, and Outside. The weather Conditions are sunny. The Exposition is Talia, maid ,and Jake, The castle,16th birthday, and outside. The rising action is that there was a curse in Talia when she was a birthday that if she touches a spike ball before her 16th birthday she fall in to a deep sleep and the only way she could wake up is get kissed by her true love. The Climax of the story is when she touches a spike ball a day before she turned 16 and she fell into deep sleep. The falling action is A boy named Jake and his friends went to a field trip with his class and they run away from the class and he sees the girl Talia and he fell in love with her. The Resolution is that The boy Jake falls in love with Talia and he kisses her and then Talia and the rest of the castle wake up and they realize they been sleeping for centuries so then Talia celebrates her 16th birthday and everything turns out good. The Conflict is when Talia and the entire castle falls into a deep sleep and they can only wake up if Talia gets kissed by her true love.
The tone is polite and happy. The mood is Happy and excited. The Theme is Never touch a spike ball before your 16th birthday. The Moral is that never touch a spike ball before your 16th birthday. The point of View is First person. The patterns of organization is compare and contrast. The authors purpose is to entertain. The authors perspective is objective and bias.
My opinion about this book is that its great its really interesting,it makes you get away and escape from your world into the book.
My favorite part of the book is when she woke up and celebrated her 16th birthday. It was recommended to me from Mrs.Zrihen. I rate this book 4/5 It was really good.

ReplyDeleteGreat readers journal. some questions what do you think is different from you and Talia. What do you have in common. How long did it take you to finish this book.
Just know you did a spectacular job. I like the way you said you did not understand what the story was about so you reread chapters 1 and 2.

Dear Noy,
ReplyDeleteWhen you said that the book was like not to touch a spike ball because then you fall into a deep sleep. What did you mean by that? What was the name of the maid in the book? I think that you did a very good job and used basically everything that was in the rubric.
Why is it that you would only rate it a four out of five? Do you think that you and Talia have some similarities. What I mean by that is do you think that Talia and you are alike in any way? Why was that your favorite part in the book, when she woke up on her 16th birthday. This was a really enjoyable journal.
Sincerely,
Tamar Bouskila
Dear Maor,
ReplyDeleteThank you And me and Talia dont have anything in common because she is a princess and live in a kingdom the diffrences are She lives in a kingdom and i dont She is a princess and im not And also she fell into deep sleep and yet i did not.
Dear Tamar,
ReplyDeleteI meant like if you touch a spike ball you will fall into deep sleeping. In the book they didnt say the name of the maid they just said The Maid. I rated this 4/5 because it was a nice book and had lots of details and it was like in a polite tone like british. Me and Talia are not alike in any way in the book. my favorite part was when she woke up because she like had a new life cause they woke up a couple of centries after so she saw everything that was new. And Thank you.
